Dear colleagues,

The economic situation remains challenging, but we must nevertheless make the best of it. Many of you demonstrate how to do this on a daily basis. You pursue your goals and do not allow your confidence to be shaken. This has a contagious effect.
That is why, in this issue, we are introducing you to colleagues who are doing inspiring work in their fields. Like the protagonists in our focus story (starting on page 6) – or the winners of the LIFE budget (starting on page 18).
Our colleague Stefan Geissler also pursues his topic with tenacity. He was independently named by many colleagues when asked, “Who is committed to our sustainability strategy within the company?” Now he has been honored with the new Sustainability Pathfinder Award. Congratulations (page 22)! 

For those who would like to acquire additional theoretical knowledge on the topic of “Maintaining confidence in difficult times,” I recommend the tips from the two experts Carl Naughton and Hans Rusinek (starting on page 12).
