Tracking Transparency!

Knowing the exact delivery status of an order at any time is a service that customers truly value.
This is now being implemented in the EMEA region in a pilot project.

This means that in the EMEA region alone, 45,000 to 47,000 deliveries by truck annually have to be tracked so that customers always know the exact location of their goods. To accomplish this monumental task, LANXESS is working with an external service provider. Data from logistics partners and shipping companies comes together on a central platform. It provides customers with information on the whereabouts of their goods. Using the new system, not only can LANXESS track deliveries to its customers, it can also provide real-time updates.

LANXESS is leveraging this information to optimize its supply chain and processes – risks on the supply route can be identified at an early stage and countermeasures can be taken, if necessary. The pilot project, which all of the BUs are participating in, is scheduled to go live by the end of the year. It will take until the second quarter of 2025 before all of the detailed information and data can be seamlessly accessed on the platform, however.

Once the project is completed, deliveries via rail, air, and sea will also be integrated into the system for the EMEA region, with an expansion to the NORAM and India regions also planned. Hanna Hertel, one of the project managers and Head of Performance Management & Data Analytics, notes: “We’ve received a tremendous response to our pilot project and our collaboration with all of the BUs is going extremely well.“
